Five Calgary restaurants made Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants list

Eight, located in the East Village alongside Nupo, at No. 6 is the first restaurant outside of Toronto and Montreal in the top 10.
It is at least the third year Eight has made the list, but this year was a dramatic move from 23rd on the 2024 Top 100 Restaurants list.
Shokunin came in at No. 74 and Nupo at No. 30. Along with Eight, Shokunin and Nupo are the work of acclaimed chef Darren MacLean.
This year’s list of top restaurants was compiled by 160 judges made up of food critics and writers, chefs and other industry professionals.
Judges submitted their list of their top 10 restaurant experiences from 2024, with an emphasis on quality, which are then tabulated to create the top 100.
